BACK at Fairtex Gym: Training, Gym Accomodation and Costs.

We are back at Fairtex Gym in Pattaya, Thailand - this time for a longer stay! In this blog we will talk about our first week here - training, living at the gym @Fairtex Residence and some costs involved so far. To watch it, please follow the Youtube link below :)

TRAINING

Training details (times, costs and what to expect) are available in our last blog here - https://www.springsia.com/blog/fairtex-training-blog-2023

Training schedule has not changed since our last visit. There are sprints called for during the week in the afternoons so we were advised to bring our shoes to training.

STAYING AT FAIRTEX RESIDENCE

This time we are staying at the gym accomodation - Fairtex Residence. All the fighters and long term foreign students live here. So far we’re enjoying staying here. For a walkthrough of the room please watch our vlog linked above! Our room comes with:

  • Queen size bed

  • Couch

  • Coffe table

  • TV

  • Wardrobe

  • Kitchen area - refrigerator with freezer, microwave, kettle, some cutlery

  • Bath Towels

  • Air conditioning

  • A standing fan

  • Free Wifi

  • Once a week cleaning + changing sheets and towels

We were lucky to have Thai lend us some of her cooking ware (hot plate, air fryer and some cooking utensils)! The cooking has been fun and a healthier option for us than eating out every day. There are several supermarkets all within walking distance (3-10 minutes) away. We would recommend cooking if you were thinking of staying here long term. The MSG and sugar in food here had us bloating and not feeling great.

COSTS

Room Rate: 13,000 baht/month (not include electricity and water fees)

Maintenance fee: 600 baht

Electricity fee: 7 baht per unit

Water fee: 40 baht per unit

**Deposit 5,000 baht

Our first bill for month 1 came to 18,600 baht paid upfront:

13,000 baht (room rental) + 600 baht (maintenance fee) + 5000 baht (deposit) - The deposit will be returned at the end of our trip in month 3 after they have deducted the last payment of electricity and water.

In month 2, we will be billed the room rental, maintenance fee and Month 1’s electricity and water usage.

Laundry:

There are several coin operated washing machines available at the Residence. The washing machines only accept 10 baht coins. There are 30 baht and 40 baht washes available. BYO laundry detergent.

Drinking Water:

There is also a drinking water dispenser at the laundry area. Drinking water is cheap - a 6L bottle is filled for 4 baht.

Cleaning service:

You will have to let the reception know which day of the week you’d like your room cleaned. Additional room cleans can be organised at a starting cost of 300 baht per clean.

What the room DOES NOT come with:

Some things to note that you will have to purchase on your stay here or bring with you from home:

  • Toilet paper

  • Soaps and bathroom needs

  • Trash bags

  • Laundry drying rack

  • Broom (for the mid week sweep ups of the studio)

  • Cooking ware

  • Hairdryer (personal preference)

  • Adaptor and extension cord

So far in week 1 our stay has been comfortable and we’re slowly acclimatising to the training volume and heat. Fights are being confirmed for June! Stay tuned for fight news. Next week, we will be travelling to Bangkok with the Fairtex team cheer squad at ONE Lumpinee.
